Welcome, I'm a compassionate and supportive Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida under the Department of Health and a Florida Public Notary.
Education: Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Central Florida; Master of Science in mental health counseling from Nova Southeastern University. I have met all requirements of the laws and rules of the state of Florida to be Licensed as a Mental Health Counselor which consisted of a one year internship in the counseling setting during graduate school, a two year post graduate internship providing counseling, completed specific required training for licensure, as well as passed the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination through the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling.
Experience/Training: I have a decade of experience and continuing education providing counseling in different settings such as in-patient, out-patient, in-home, telehealth, and walk & talk therapy. I'm flexible, efficient and very motivated to help others. I have extensive ongoing training in trauma and treatment modalities. I'm passionate about expanding my knowledge, learning new techniques and engaging in research to further advance the world of counseling and its accessibility. Former trauma therapist at a nationally recognized lead trauma agency for children, Pasco Kids First of Pasco and Hernando Counties.
Interests: I enjoy using preferred treatment modalities and creativity to find different avenues to better serve each individual or population. I have worked and interned with different agencies, psychiatric hospitals/facilities providing intervention through individual, family and group counseling to adults and children in treatment for trauma (sexual, physical abuse, domestic violence), addiction; mental illness and co-occurring disorders.
Community: Former Pre-Collegiate Program Coordinator for Pasco-Hernando State College under the office of Global Multi-cultural Awareness where I had the opportunity to provide various services to the community such as academic & cultural enrichment; social/behavioral workshops to secondary students and self-care workshops to parents through the College Reach-Out Program, Take Stock in Children and Center of Excellence. Former member of the Women's Committee at PHSC North Campus, presenting different themes and providing resources to students and the community in recognition of National's Women Month each year. I pride myself on being diverse and versatile. I look forward to working with you.
